Shiva Natarajan has been in the hospitality business for the last 18 yrs. He founded several highly rated Indian restaurants in New York City like Chola, Dhaba, Chote Nawab, Kokum, Malai Marke and Haldi. Natarajan through his several restaurants showcased indian food from several regions of india like Kerala, Chennai, Calcutta, Lucknow, Hyderabad and Punjab. Kokum is his favorite South Indian Restaurant.
Natarajan has also opened the several successful Thai restaurants in CT;The Little Thai Kitchen restaurants, that were awarded two stars by NY Times. He had also opened a Mexican restaurant, Vega, in Westchester NY, again given two stars by NY Times.
Many of his restaurants have been highly acclaimed by Zagat, New York Times, NY magazine, Time Out and Gourmet magazine. Several TV Channels including ABC, NBC, FOX, and the Martha Stewart show have featured Shiva Natarajan and his restaurants.
In 2015, Natarajan sold his Indian restaurants in New York City to Michelin star chef Hemant Mathur to write a cookbook and brand his own sauces.
